Bluebird Barn
Waiting for the temperatures to warm up just a tad before we start adding lights for the season! We are also excited for the peonies and wildflowers this year so we can add the outdoor wedding arbor. It is a beautiful property showcasing the high mountain meadows surrounded by the forest. The final bit of tables and chairs arrive shortly, and we will be ready for spring hosting. Whether you're hosting a wedding, reunion, or retreat the Bluebird is the perfect place to mak

planning & planting
It's timeee!!! For searching the grounds for sprouts from the hyacinth, daffodils and tulips, checking the willows and watching the blooms on the hellebores start to emerge! Also, its that time to start filling seed trays and setting up the seedling racks so I can empty all the seed packets that were planned for this past season. It is always exciting to fresh even with the dauting weather curve balls, weeds and all the other various problems that are sure to arise. January

bring in the new
This is the week I start looking farther ahead, more like months instead of days or weeks, and start focusing on some bigger goals and aspirations. It's a good time to assess changes and make sure you have important people at "your table" with time prioritized to support each of them. The wrong people at your table can make for the wrong kind of challenging year! So, with the new year approaching I am taking stock in who I have around me and what we all want to accomplish

Merry and Bright!
Merry Christmas! From all of us at the farm we wish everyone a very Merry Christmas this week!! Hoping you cherish the season and your loved ones this Christmas, make memories that last, and have some time to spread a bit of joy where you can. We have had a very full year around the farm from cottage remod's to new gardens and new friends that joined the farm! The horses have been a great focus this year for our entire team. They need lots of care and attention and patien

Christmas is coming!
Surely most of you are in the homestretch of your Christmas prep. I on the other hand have not finished shopping or started baking, hope there are few more of you out there in the same boat! But, we are working on wreaths and trying to dodge this oddly warm, wet and windy winter we have been having out here in the PNW. I would love to hear about your favorite Christmas traditions. Wishing everyone a healthy, merry and bright Christmas Day! Off to batten down the hatches f

all is calm, all is bright
Christmas is in full swing and hopefully you have some time to enjoy the entire season, from decorating to giving and to preparing and enjoying meals with the ones you hold near and dear. I always hope for a little snow by Christmas, but we are pretty hit and miss for white Christmas's here in Eastern WA. Thankfully the trees are not far, and I can gather and create wreaths that help usher in all the Christmas feels! Please reach out if you are local and in need of a wreat

Mountain air
It's fall and I am loving the cooler temps and the shorter days! Although it is a slowdown we still have plenty of happenings going on around here. So far, I have shared my little cottage in the city on this site, but I do have a couple other cottages in the mountains. One will be a future venue, stay tuned for the photos after the last bit of details get tended to for this year! It will be a charming "rustic fairytale" vibe with old barns, small country farmhouse, larger

Mum's the word!
The days are shrinking substantially now, and everything is quietly slowing down. These days I am enjoying the dahlias around the farm still, but I have to admit some of my favorite flowers of the season are just blooming. The Chrysanthemum!! They are not unlike dahlias in that there are so very many varieties and colors, and they are not known to be especially fragrant, but they are showstoppers. I think they enjoy letting the rest of the garden know that it is time to sl
